We have to admit that at first we didn’t come up with the name “BANN”. Instead, It was “BON” the combination of the letters of our names “Ben” and “Mon”. We went to check the name on one of the famous domain websites and it was available back then.
Now since we get more serious and wanted to register our name and create the website. Turn out it asked us 7K for that name. Our heads were spinning! As we just started our business, we don’t have that much to invest in the name yet. We need to come up with a new name!
That night, we stormed our brains together. My wife suddenly said “What about BANN??”. Well, what is that?? It sounds good and still has our letters in that. So, she gradully explains to me little by little.
- BANN means “HOME” in Thailand. They generally use that to refer a homie, home sweet home that type of deal. And I LIKE IT!
- To pronounce it correctly, BANN needs to pronounce in high tone to provide such meaning.
Since each Thai alphabet got different vows. Some got up to 5 vows including “B” sound (Seriously?!). But, don’t worry if you are miss-pronouncing. It still got some good meaning;
- BANN (low tone) means “Blossom”.
- BANN (low tone) also means “the panel of a window” which can imply to the window that opens up to the opportunities.
Not bad, isn’t it?
So, here we are “BANN Capital” and we would like to welcome you to our “Home Sweet Home”. We hope to acquire knowledge, friendship and wisdoms throughout our journey.
Hope you all have a nice day!
